Houmi Miura

Houmi is an East Asian actor, theatre-maker and writer based in Manchester. She was selected for the BBC Writersroom Northern Voices 2020 programme, a scheme which develops new and exciting talent for screenwriting.

Houmi is an Eclipse Commissioned artist for her one woman show, In The Beginning Woman Was The Sun, that intimately explores how racial identity is depicted when you have no say in the matter, how to subvert it and ultimately, how to smash the stereotype and get on the road to empowerment.
