Congratulations to Horizon Collective’s Co-Chair, Grace Ng!
We’re incredibly excited to announce that our Co-Chair, Grace Ng, has been awarded £274,743 from Arts Council England's Theatre Breakthrough Fund (North) to establish Horizons Collective.
The fund redistributes public funding previously allocated to Eclipse Theatre Company, to support Black, Asian and ethnically diverse theatre makers in the North to make ambitious new work.
Grace and Horizons Collective will work closely with New Earth Theatre over the next few years, using the fund to champion high quality new contemporary work by northern British East & South East Asian (BESEA) artists/companies. The fund will also be used to develop the infrastructure needed to support sustainable careers for BESEA artists in the North East & North West.
Horizons Collective has a longstanding collaborative relationship with New Earth Theatre and we’re delighted that this new funding will continue that collaboration, working together to create stronger opportunities for northern BESEA artists.
Grace says: “What an honour to be entrusted this position of steward leadership. Manchester and the North is home to a precious abundance of talent and ambition among British East Asian and South East Asian theatre makers. Together with longstanding, trusted partners, we can now go and establish producing contexts that will make transformative artistic experiences. Happy ESEA Heritage Month!”
Huge congratulations to Grace and her unwavering dedication to supporting her BESEA community!
